36 years ago today...

my mom became a mother for the first time. Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

I had a great childhood. I never wanted for anything. I was happy, loved, supported. My parents loved me and each other. We went on family vacations several times. I have some really great memories.

I got married to a great guy 14 years ago. I have 7 children. 4 babies to hold in heaven and 3 wonderful, smart, healthy babies to hold here.

I have had a VERY blessed 36 years. Thank you, Lord!

Happy Birthday, Brittany!!! I remember how excited we were when we knew you were on the way....I remember being really happy about it....and I remember wondering if you were EVER going to get here. I remember the shock of the nurses when they heard your name (and how many of them came to my room to see if that really was your name!....think of it, you've never met an older "Brittany" have you?!?) I remember the doctors FINALLY agreeing that I really DID know when I got pregnant and yes, you really WERE six weeks and six days late!!! (I'm not sure I've totally forgiven you for that yet!!!) I remember all the beautiful bouquets I got....somewhere around 12, I think. I remember all the darling little girl things we got as gifts..but NOTHING pink! You had every color of the rainbow in multiples EXCEPT pink. I made your daddy go buy you a pink dress for Easter the following spring (even though you had a closet FULL of clothes!) because I wanted you to wear pink. I remember that and so many other things...but what I think of most is how much you've grown....how you are a woman of character, a loving wife and mother, a generous friend. I think I am the one that has been blessed. Love, Your mom xoxoxoxoxo

Happy Birthday friend!! I'm tearing up reading what your mom wrote...what an awesome lady. I hope I can bless my kids with words like that one day, you're fortunate.

Happy Birthday Brittany! I recall a cute little girl running around (but not too much) in dresses with LOTS of ruffles and bows and VERY "girlie"! When I think of you now, I think of an equally beautiful YOUNG woman - running around after her children, loving her husband and being a woman of integrity! Your momma and daddy certainly raised you right - and you continue that legacy in your own family! Hope you had a wonderful day and that the year ahead will be the best so far!
