A "town" that's friendly. Kid friendly. :)

Brookelyn participated in a local program for kids in our area. It's a town-like place that kids learn about crossing the street, riding bikes, strangers and house fires. It's 2 hours every afternoon for a week. She really enjoyed it. Until Thursday night, that is.

She loved learning about street signs and making sure I abide by them as well. Part of the program is getting to ride these bike things around a little "town" and obeying the traffic signs and being on the right side of the road. This was her favorite part. Although she did complain to me that the police officer was too strict about how to "drive" and obey the signs. (ha!) I'm in HUGE trouble in about 10 years! waaaaaa!!!

Thursday night, my fearful child couldn't sleep most of the night. She was newly aware that most house fires happen at night. So, now it's not just thunderstorms that we're dealing with.

I assured her that we have a working smoke detector and where it was. I told her what would happen if there is a fire. (meaning how to get out, even though we've gone over this numerous times before)

Didn't help much. She's still worried about it.

I always loved those little towns when I was a kid.

Sorry about the new "worry" to deal with. It seems like there is always something new!

Hope you are doing well.

Bless her heart, she is so serious and concerned about others. Maybe she will be a doctor or nurse someday. Wouldn't that be great?!!!!!
