The "Ocean"..errrrr....Lake Michigan

Marlene and I took the kids to the beach on Lake Michigan when we first arrived. They had never been to a beach of any kind before. They also had never seen rolling waves or a body of water that you couldn't see land across from it. Those are part of the joys of living in the midwest, I guess. I made the kids stop before they got in the water so I could have a picture of them first.

We let Nathan have a little freedom on the beach. He loved it. Can you tell?

I took this picture with exactly this in mind. I could just see it'd make a great black and white.

The girls getting their toes wet. Brookelyn kept saying, "I LOVE swimming in the ocean!" It took me quite a while to convince her that it wasn't actually an ocean. I'm not sure I accomplished it. Oh well.
