This morning, in our church service, our kids department sang for the congregation. They sang a couple of songs, but the one that struck me was an old Rich Mullins song, Oh God, You are my God. I was sitting there watching my oldest two arrows sing their hearts out (one of them as loud as she could, I bet you could guess who!) and tears just fell. Part of me was proud of them, but more because I was listening to them sing wonderful words to our Savior. I silently prayed and asked God that they'd truly live the words to that song for all of their days. After all, that's why we truly exist, to follow, worship, and adore God. Nothing else. When things around us are not going as we planned or as well as we'd like, GOD is the only thing that truly matters.
The words to the song...
Oh God, you are my God and I will ever praise you. Oh God, you are my God and I will ever praise you.
I will seek you in the morning and I will learn to walk in your ways.
Step by step you lead me, and I will follow you all of my days.
I will follow you all of my days.
I will follow you all of my days.
Step by step you lead me, and I will follow you all of my days.

Brit,
AWWWW! I bet it was precious! I recall my throat catching many many times when we sang that with the kids in children's church because I loved looking at their faces singing out with all they had, and I was hoping and praying the same thing you did -- that it would really be true in their lives! Especially that line about "I will follow you all of my days" -- a real heart wrencher! I wish I could have been there! I miss everyone lots and lots! Tell the girls I said hi!
